Hello, I’m Bonnie, a photographer based in Berlin. I originally come from Hong Kong and studied Photography at the University of the Arts Berlin, where I was a master student of Josephine Pryde and was nominated for the President’s Prize in 2020.
I work in sports, event, and portrait photography, as well as weddings, and regularly collaborate with various agencies across Europe.
My focus is on real moments, movement, and atmosphere – combined with a clear, calm visual style. I don’t work purely as an observer; when needed, I give clear and subtle direction so that people feel comfortable in front of the camera and natural images can emerge.
Outside of photography, I practice Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts. My own practice in martial arts gives me a deeper understanding of sports photography – especially timing, physicality, tension, and capturing the decisive moment in dynamic situations.
My goal is to create images that feel honest and remain meaningful even years later.
Hallo, ich bin Bonnie, Fotografin aus Berlin. Ich komme ursprünglich aus Hongkong und habe Fotografie an der Universität der Künste Berlin studiert, wo ich Meisterschülerin von Josephine Pryde war und 2020 für den Präsident*innenpreis nominiert wurde.
Ich arbeite im Bereich Sport-, Event- und Portraitfotografie sowie bei Hochzeiten und arbeite regelmäßig mit verschiedenen Agenturen in Europa zusammen.
Mein Fokus liegt auf echten Momenten, Bewegung und Atmosphäre – kombiniert mit einem klaren, ruhigen Bildstil. Ich arbeite nicht rein beobachtend, sondern gebe bei Bedarf klare, dezente Anweisungen, damit Menschen sich vor der Kamera sicher fühlen und natürliche Bilder entstehen.
Neben der Fotografie interessiere ich mich für Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu und Mixed Martial Arts. Meine eigene Praxis in den Martial Arts gibt mir zusätzlich ein tiefes Verständnis für Sportfotografie – für Timing, Körperlichkeit, Spannung und den richtigen Moment in dynamischen Situationen.
Mein Ziel sind Bilder, die sich echt anfühlen und auch Jahre später noch Bestand haben.
